After Dave's article in F.O.O.M. #12, he began to hustle for more work within the industry. Around the same time that he hooked up with Kenneth Landgraf and Armando Gil he placed an advertisment in the Rocket's Blast Comicollector offering his services as a caricaturist. For a mere $10 Dave would draw a person's head onto the body of a superhero and, typical of Dave, the amount included full pencils, inks and colours. I'm not sure how many, if any at all, of these caricatures that Dave actually did produce.
In the early 1980s Dave hooked up with publisher FantaCo to provide spot illustrations for their 'Chronicles' series. There were five titles in the series and an annual. Dave provided art for three of the titles: The Daredevil Chronicles, The Avengers Chronicles and The Fantastic Four Chronicles. The drawings here represent all of his output for the series.
